SPIRITED MAMA COMMUNITY
THERAPEUTIC + EDUCATIONAL GROUP
Motherhood can be an exciting journey, but for many the beginnings of becoming a mom can also be an uncertain, scary, tense, and lonely time. Simply put, being a new mom can be hard.
To help in this transition, join us for a unique, 6 week social experience, once a week for 90 mins where you will be supported by other moms, as well as a licensed clinician. These groups will provide mamas with immediate emotional support, a space to share stories of motherhood without judgement, and the ability to develop and improve a positive mama self-image.
A special focus of this group will be on supporting mamas in learning techniques to cope with depression and/or anxiety after childbirth, as well as on how to better bond with their newborn(s).
As a member of this group you will learn how to:
1) Implement behaviors to take care of yourself- mind, body, and spirit.
2) Increase assertiveness and establish your voice to foster effective communication with others.
3) Establish an identity and adapt to your new role as a mama.
4) Increase connection in bonding with other mamas on similar journeys in mama-hood.
5) Manage postpartum depression and anxiety symptoms in a healthy, affirming way.
6) Utilize coping strategies and skills that address stressors that may impact your role as a mama.
